LGE Design Build recently completed construction on Utility Trailer’s 60,000-square-foot Arizona headquarters at the Rados Tolleson Center, giving the utility trailer retailer and repair business ample room to reach its growth potential.
Utility Trailer and its team of 50 employees outgrew their previous facility in Phoenix, near 22nd Avenue and McDowell Road, where the family-owned business got its start back in 1953. The company’s new Arizona headquarters, situated on 14 acres of land located at 83rd Avenue and I-10 in Tolleson, doubles its facility size and enhances its proximity to the central distribution corridor of the Southwest Valley. Thanks to its new position along I-10, Utility Trailer is now closer than ever to the primary trucking route between Phoenix Los Angeles, and the facility also boasts close proximity to the Loop 101 highway.
The new, two-story multipurpose building is designed by the team at Phoenix-based Cawley Architects. It features a prominent lobby and entrance and 46,000 square feet of service and warehouse space, and it is designed to easily accommodate the industry’s modern standard of 53-foot semi-trailers. The new square footage gives Utility Trailer technicians room to service about twice as many trailers as they were previously able to do at one time, positioning the company for continued expansion and growth, and the property’s 24-foot clear-height ceilings allow for new shop efficiencies to help streamline day-to-day business operations. New cranes and a full-racked warehouse serve as additional project features, giving Utility Trailer the ability to stock and supply the single-largest trailer parts inventory in the area with room to spare.
Headed by President George Cravens, Utility Trailer AZ has been locally owned and operated by three generations of Cravens family members. An authorized dealer of Utility Trailer Manufacturing, based in City of Industry, California, the business is also a sales and warranty service center for non-competing semi-trailer brands that support the construction, moving, agriculture and heavy-haul markets. The new, expansive Arizona headquarters offers a one-stop shop for trailer parts and superior repair service for clients across the trucking industry.
LGE Design Build was proud to partner with Utility Trailer on this project, and to have played a role in helping the company with a long history of success in the state effectively grow alongside its client base.
